The Corporate Responsibility Regional Manager provides strategic counsel across the enterprise to identify and activate high-impact opportunities that strengthen Southwest Airlines' brand presence, foster goodwill, and engage Customers while firmly establishing the airline as a trusted community partner and influential Leader in the market. They'll work cross-functionally with various stakeholders and integrate community partnerships and initiatives into our broader brand strategy to strengthen our presence across the San Diego community. The Corporate Responsibility Regional Manager is a skilled collaborator and communicator, who is ready to drive the future of Southwest.
This San Diego, CA - based role is offered as a regional workplace position and Employees must work in the region they support. This could require working from a mix of on-site Company facilities and remote based offices to perform the job function in a regional location determined by business need. In addition, this role may require travel both within and outside of the region fortrainings, meetings, conferences, etc. Each Department will provide Employees with guidance on when and where presence is required with as much notice as reasonably possible.

Responsibilities
- Build network of community Stakeholders to grow the Southwest brand among trade, civic, philanthropic, advocacy, and resource organizations
- Build positive strategic relationships with established key community influencers, and can recommend the right opportunities as needed
- Demonstrate strong financial stewardship in the planning and oversight of Corporate Responsibility budget. Adhere to prudent and ethical use of Company resources
- Engage socially and facilitate opportunities to interact with key officials, thoughtleaders, and community partners to build long-term mutually beneficial relationships
- Identify strategic opportunities, assessing and demonstrating the viability of partnerships and/or activity to determine appropriate action; and overseeing the launch of associated events
- Represent the Company at various outside meetings and events with community organizations, elected officials, business, or industry events, including delivering company presentations to further our brand affinity
- Create strategic plan for the allocation and deployment of Corporate Responsibility resources and provide counsel back to the business on when and where company should engage
- Drive innovation to ensure community outreach programs are relevant and meet evolving trends/best practices as well as contribute to our inclusion strategy to support corporate goals
- Guide Leadership Engagement strategy development and implementation
- Serve as a convener/facilitator for cross-departmental conversations / projects
- May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods including alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing Customer services including Customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of Customer satisfaction
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning and resource allocation
- Knowledge of historical events and their causes, indicators, and effects on communities and Cultures
- Skilled in creatively and collaboratively solving problems and creating win-win solutions for Southwest and external partners
- Skilled in understanding the implications of latest information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
- Skilled in understanding and applying information to contribute to the organization's strategic plan
- Ability to listen to, understand, and communicate ideas presented in writing and/or in speaking with others
- Ability to produce innovative ideas about a given topic or situation, or to develop creative ways to solve a problem
- Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong, which does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem
- Ability to negotiate contracts and measure outcomes
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
- Advanced-level experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in:
- Relationship Management and Corporate Social Responsibility
- Community Outreach
- Preferred: Experience in building and maintaining a network of community stakeholders-including trade, civic, philanthropic, advocacy, and resource organizations-to strengthen brand presence and local partnerships.
- Preferred: Skilled in cultivating and leveraging strategic relationships with key community influencers; experienced in identifying and recommending high-impact engagement opportunities.
Physical Abilities
- Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
- Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
- Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Other Qualifications
- Must be able to travel and work nights and weekends as expected for the position
- Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
Pay & Benefits
- Competitive market salary from $100,700 - $111,900 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
