Position Summary

Assists the San Diego Regional Office by directing and supervising the daily operations of the San Diego Regional Senior Nutrition Program.

Essential Functions



  • Supervise and direct the work of all program site managers.
  • Facilitate and oversee all program site managers meetings (monthly, quarterly, annual).
  • Train new site managers and implement training plans for entry level employees in coordination with site managers.
  • Deliver Human Resources services to program, including but not limited to employee performance evaluations, hiring, terminations and timekeeping, in accordance with company guidelines and procedures.
  • As directed, represents The Salvation Army to outside agencies, including but not limited to attending meetings and networking with vendors to foster positive working relationships.
  • Monitors contract compliance, including but not limited to the performance of periodic site audits, spot checks and other duties.
  • Facilitate and monitor all matters related to security and confidentiality of Senior Nutrition program, for both personnel and clients.
  • Must meet all health and safety regulations as defined by the Health Department and The Salvation Army.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Working Conditions

Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as broom, mop, vacuum and spray bottles.

Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or Business Administration, required. Equivalent work experience may substitute for education (2 years of experience for 1 year of education).
  • Minimum three years of combined administrative work experience with management duties required.
  • Microsoft Office, advanced proficiency required.
  • General accounting or bookkeeping knowledge, helpful.
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate well in English.
  • Bilingual English / Spanish, preferred.
  • Possess or be able to obtain within 30 days of hire a Food Manager's Certificate.
  • Maintain a valid California driver license and be 21 years of age.
  • Before hire, submit a copy of DMV driving record with less than two (2) violations (moving or accident) in the last twelve months. Before hire, must pass Fleet Test of The Salvation Army. Certification by and participation in The Salvation Army's Fleet Program, annually, is required. May not obtain more than two (2) violations, moving or accident, in one year.
