 Job Summary: The Tax Associate, Family Office Services/Private Client Services Associate assists in providing accounting and tax compliance and consulting to high net worth clients. Job Duties: 
 
   
 - Prepares basic to complex individual and other tax returns
 - Uses software programs to organize, coordinate and process accounts payable data for clients that include but are not limited to Bill.com, QuickBooks, Intacct, Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe PDF 
 - Meets internal deadlines to match the client expectations for timely delivery of service and ensures client data is collected and processed in a timely manner to comply with payment deadlines and filing requirements
 - Performs complete general ledger reconciliation including the entire balance sheet and applies accounting knowledge by properly recording transactions in a general ledger; creates accounting records such as bill payments, client invoices, payroll, and others; identifies and records adjustments; produces accurate financial statements 
 - Comprehends common financial statements and prepares draft financial statements for review; understands how line items/accounts function (e.g. capital accounts, various forms of liabilities, etc.); properly distinguishes debits from credits; calculates/interprets KPIs for clients; identifies positive and constructive trends and raises them to BDO management
 - Performs research and completes consulting projects
 - Interacts directly with clients and their advisors 
 - Communicates with supervisors, engagement team, and clients regarding the status of projects
 - Assists with administrative responsibilities including billing, recruiting, attendance and participation in CPE activities and training
 - Other duties as required

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Education: 
 
   
 - Bachelor's or Master's program in Accounting or Finance, required
 
  
 
 
Experience: 
 
   
 - Leadership experience, preferred
 - One (1) or more years prior experience in accounting, finance, or legal, required
 - Experience working in public accounting or the private client area, preferred
 
  
 
 
License/Certifications: 
 
   
 - Working towards CPA or CFP, preferred
 
  
 
 
Software: 
 
   
 - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, required
 - Experience utilizing industry standard accounting software required such as Intuit's QuickBooks Online (QBO), Microsoft NAV and Bill.com, CaseWare, BNA Depreciation Software, preferred
 - Ability to learn and navigate new and complex software, preferred

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography. California Range: $85,000 - $90,000 Colorado Range: $73,000-$77,000 Illinois Range: $78,000-$82,000 Maryland Range: $83,000-$87,000 Massachusetts Range: $83,000-$87,000 Minnesota Range: $70,000-$74,000 New Jersey Range: $74,000-$82,000 NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $83,000-$87,000 Washington Range: $78,000 - $80,000 Washington DC Range: $83,000-$87,000
