DIRECTOR OF CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS SOUTHFIELD, MICHIGAN - WORLD HEADQUARTERS Lear is seeking a seasoned professional to join our global Marketing and Communications team as the Director of Corporate Communications. This critical role, reporting to the Vice President of Marketing and Communications, will support and implement the company's communications strategy, both internally and externally, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and consistency across channels. The ideal candidate excels at delivering impactful messaging and is able to translate business strategy into clear and concise communications, with a strong focus on internal storytelling, team operations, and content development. The Role: Your work will include, but not be limited to:
- Drive and enhance our internal communication strategy to inspire and connect employees worldwide. Identify and showcase achievements from global teams, sharing compelling stories through the company's internal portal and other channels. Oversee key initiatives, including Town Halls, internal broadcasts, the homepage, podcasts, and newsletters.
- Craft compelling executive speeches, internal messages, and presentations that resonate with employees and other stakeholders. Collaborate with leadership, ensuring communications reflect the company vision, values, and strategic goals.
- Collaborate with Investor Relations to amplify financial messaging provided to Wall Street analysts and other financial stakeholders. Ensure clear, precise, and professional communication that reflects the company's financial strategy and overall performance.
- Drive and execute an external communications strategy to enhance the company's reputation and ensure consistent, impactful messaging across channels. Deliver transparent, values-driven messaging that protects the company's reputation and minimizes risk. Leverage established relationships with automotive and business media to manage communications effectively during critical moments.
- Develop a deep understanding of Lear's business and culture, as well as the automotive industry more broadly. Monitor developments in government policy and economic trends, providing actionable insights.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to align messaging across corporate and product narratives. Ensure a cohesive voice in communications that drives brand engagement, trust, and credibility.
- Manage and mentor a high-performing corporate communications team. Foster innovation and professional growth while ensuring effective execution of communication objectives. Embrace the integration of cutting-edge tools, including AI and automation, to enhance team efficiency and output.
Your Qualifications:
- 10-15 years of proven experience in corporate communications, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to build trust and work effectively with C-Suite executives, translating complex ideas into clear, impactful messaging.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Experience working for an international company, with an understanding of advising and coordinating teams across regions.
- Strong grasp of the automotive industry, including the ability to identify key trends and provide actionable insights to leadership.
- Established professional relationships with top-tier automotive and business media outlets.
- Process-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

- Previous experience in a communications leadership role at a tier 1 automotive supplier
