Introduction

Within ASML, the Customer Support (CS) sector is responsible for the installation, maintenance, upgrades, and continuous improvement of ASML products. One of the departments within CS is Yieldstar (YS), which supports ASML's metrology platform.

The UIR Engineer - Yieldstar (Upgrades, Install, and Relocation) plays a key role in executing installation activities at customer sites across the U.S. This is a dynamic position that rotates between three functions-UIR Engineer, UIR Coordinator, and YS Technical Support-based on U.S. project planning needs. Weekly planning reviews will determine upcoming responsibilities and travel requirements.

Due to the nature of the role, a higher level of travel is expected. The position is based in Chandler, AZ.

Roles and responsibilities
  • Perform installation, relocation, and upgrade tasks for Yieldstar systems.

  • Coordinate with central support teams to resolve escalations by summarizing issues and scheduling follow-up calls.

  • Diagnose and explain tool issues to team members and stakeholders, including engineering and customer teams.

  • Collaborate with project leads, manufacturing, and customers to plan and prepare for timely execution of system upgrades.

  • Inspect pre-installation parts and report any quality concerns.

  • Oversee customer-managed resources and facility connections, ensuring safe work practices and adherence to schedules.

  • Communicate plans and updates to stakeholders, adjusting schedules as needed.

  • Maintain strong communication with internal and external teams to ensure alignment and progress.

Education and experience
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering field or equivalent combination of education, skills & experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with mechanical aptitude, including knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and electronics in a semiconductor or high-volume manufacturing environment.

  • At least 6 months of experience using MS Office.

  • All employees must be able to pass an extensive background check to obtain customer clearance.

  • Expect to spend more than 50% of work time inside the clean room working with electromechanical equipment.

  • Non-exempt position requires the willingness to work flexible shifts and extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays; extensive overtime may be required during upgrade execution.

  • Valid driver's license and passport required.

  • At times, job requires standing for long periods of time and moving tools and equipment up to 40 lbs. in weight unaided.

  • This position will require international travel (up to 50%) to the field offices or other sites with short notice and uninterrupted periods up to 6 weeks in a row.

  • Work is conducted at a customer site and requires familiarization with customer rules and policies regarding worksite behavior and safety.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. * 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
