Job Title: Cisco Network Engineer
Location: On-site in New Haven, CT (Hybrid after 3-4 months) Note: W2 Only - No C2C or Third-Party Candidates About the Role TEKsystems is seeking a highly capable Cisco Network Engineer to support a strategic infrastructure project focused on optimizing Cisco ISE and SD-Access environments. This role is critical to improving network performance, strengthening access control, and aligning with modern security frameworks. Project Overview This initiative involves a full-scale review and enhancement of an enterprise Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) and Software-Defined Access (SD-Access) deployment. The engineer will lead efforts to: * Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks * Improve authentication and authorization workflows * Enhance guest/BYOD onboarding processes * Align access controls with Zero Trust principles * Plan for future upgrades to Cisco ISE 3.x Key Responsibilities * Conduct a comprehensive audit of the ISE/SD-Access environment * Analyze and optimize authentication, authorization, and endpoint profiling * Refine network access policies and TrustSec configurations * Improve guest/BYOD workflows and posture assessment mechanisms * Support Cisco infrastructure including Catalyst switches, routers, and WLCs * Integrate ISE with Active Directory, PKI, and certificate services * Troubleshoot complex network access issues across wired and wireless environments * Document findings, recommendations, and implementation plans * Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless deployment and knowledge transfer * Assist with upgrade planning and migration to Cisco ISE 3.x Required Qualifications * 3-5 years of hands-on experience with Cisco ISE in enterprise environments * Strong knowledge of 802.1X, RADIUS, TACACS+ * Experience with Cisco TrustSec, endpoint profiling, and posture assessment * Familiarity with guest/BYOD workflows and onboarding strategies * Solid understanding of Layer 2/3 networking: VLANs, ACLs, DHCP, DNS, STP * Hands-on experience with Cisco Catalyst switches, routers, and WLCs * Integration experience with Active Directory, certificate services, and authentication protocols * Comfortable working in both CLI and GUI environments Preferred Qualifications * Cisco certifications: CCNP Security, Security Identity Management Specialist, or equivalent * Experience with Cisco ISE 3.x, including upgrade and migration best practices * Familiarity with Cisco DNA Center, AnyConnect, and endpoint visibility tools * Scripting/automation skills using Python, Ansible, or REST APIs * Exposure to Zero Trust architectures and wireless security integration *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.
