We are part of the Microsoft Azure Networking team, responsible for designing, building, and operating critical services for customers. Our responsibilities include enabling hybrid connectivity for enterprises to connect to Azure, application load balancing, secure virtual machine access, network function virtualization, application and network security services, and the Network Diagnostics Platform. At the core of these services is a robust software-defined networking and network function virtualization infrastructure that we continuously innovate on to improve agility, scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Production Infrastructure team. This role will focus on pre-production testing, continuous integration and continuous delivery rollouts, and planet-scale health monitoring of hundreds of thousands of networking platform-as-a-service offerings. The mission of the team is to deliver high-quality networking services with the agility of the cloud. ResponsibilitiesCollaborates with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a scenario.Drives identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for a product, application, service, or platform.Creates, implements, optimizes, debugs, refactors, and reuses code to establish and improve performance and maintainability, effectiveness, and return on investment (ROI).Leverages subject-matter expertise of product features and partners with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project managers) to drive a workgroup's project plans, release plans, and work items.Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guides other engineers by developing and following the playbook, working on call to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions, alerting stakeholders about status and initiates actions to restore system/product/service for simple and complex problems when appropriate.Proactively seeks new knowledge and adapts to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.Other:Embody our Culture and Values |
