The Office of the Ambulatory CMO is forming its inaugural team and is seeking a Senior Project Manager to help shape its foundation. We are looking for a Senior Project Manager that will support the team's development of the initial project portfolio and be a part of the ground level of exciting and impactful initiatives. This role will report to the Ambulatory CMO's Chief of Staff and work collaboratively with their team to drive industry best practices and an exceptional culture with humility, integrity, and enthusiasm.
As a key member of this growing team, the Senior Project Manager will lead the planning, execution, and refinement of high-impact initiatives that strengthen ambulatory care services across our health system. This role is ideal for a professional with deep project management expertise, adept at navigating ambiguity, and a strong foundation in quality improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent frameworks. In addition to managing complex, cross-functional projects, the Senior Project Manager will play a critical role in building and standardizing project management systems and tools-drawing on industry best practices to support consistency, transparency, and long-term success across the portfolio. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, this individual will collaborate closely with clinical, operational, and administrative stakeholders to align priorities, drive progress, and deliver results that have lasting impact across the organization. Projects will vary in scope and scale, each contributing to meaningful, system-wide improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble and lead large cross-functional project teams to develop detailed project plans and schedules, guide project implementation, and monitor resource allocation
  • Develop detailed project proposals and reports that support organizational strategy
  • Track project status and performance leveraging metrics and dashboards
  • Conduct data analysis of complex project-related issues to inform decision-making
  • Apply quality improvement and risk management methodologies to address project challenges
  • Oversee project progress from initiation through delivery, including system integration, project and campus, medical center, or Office of the President communications, vendor coordination, and managing risk
  • Identify and escalate risks and facilitate the implementation of mitigation strategies and innovative solutions
  • Communicate project progress, risks, and solutions to leadership and stakeholders
  • Collaborate across departments at all levels to ensure alignment with institutional goals
  • Provide expert guidance on project scoping, execution, and measurement
  • Enhance and standardize project management processes, tools, and reporting systems
  • Support team-level continuous improvement through ongoing performance monitoring and analysis
Salary Range: $92,600 - $202,200 Annually
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training
  • Minimum eight years of progressive experience managing cross-functional projects and implementing process improvement methodologies - REQUIRED
  • Project management (PMP) certificate and/or quality assurance processes like Six Sigma or Lean or equivalent project management experience - REQUIRED
  • Requires advanced knowledge of project management principles, theories, and concepts
  • Demonstrated advanced organization and project management skills
  • Working knowledge of organizational and technology-related initiatives, with a clear understanding of their strategic and operational impact
  • Demonstrated attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to determine relevance and prioritize tasks
  • Demonstrated advanced, effective writing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with all levels of an organization effectively
  • Demonstrated competency in selecting and implementing project management methods and techniques
  • Proven leadership ability. Demonstrated ability to put forth persuasive arguments
  • Demonstrated skill in effective problem-solving
  • Demonstrated skill at tracking effort and project progress
  • Demonstrated strong conceptual and planning skills to analyze projects of broad and diverse scope. Understands the cost impact of projects, project tracking tools, and metrics
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate critical information across disciplines. Understands how projects relate to other business strategies and initiatives
