That's why we're looking for a Real Estate Practice Assistant to provide comprehensive support to Attorneys, Legal Administrative Assistants, Paralegals, and other legal and non-legal staff within the Real Estate Finance Practice Group.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for...



  • Assisting closing team with preparation of closing documents and delivery of electronic and physical closing binders
  • Assisting rate cap team with preparation and distribution of rate cap related documents
  • Managing multiple databases in support of the practice group and clients
  • Monitoring various eRooms for incoming documentation; uploading relevant documents and maintaining in various electronic platforms and hard-copy files
  • Preparing correspondence, legal documents, forms, presentations, and the like using intermediate to advanced word processing and technology skills
  • Effectively proofreading and editing documentation for grammatical and typographical errors; providing detailed review of client related closing documentation to include required signatures
  • Following up with internal and external parties to ensure timely collection of all required signatures on various transaction documents, title policies, and recorded documents for closed transactions
  • Conducting research and data analysis on historical transaction data; providing accurate data entry into various online platforms
  • Assisting staff with administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, copying, document production, bar-coding files, time entry, expense reimbursements, meeting logistics, etc.


The successful candidate will demonstrate...



  • A minimum of one year of work experience; prior experience working within a real estate or finance practice area is preferred
  • Proficient level skills in Word, Outlook, Excel, Adobe Acrobat (PDF), and DocuSign; working knowledge of PowerPoint and Visio
  • Familiarity working within databases, eRoom platforms, and document management systems; iManage and ShareFile, flash drive storage, importing and exporting encrypted files, and maintaining hard copy filing systems
  • Meticulous level of attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to properly prioritize workload and multi-task effectively within a fast-paced environment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to effectively interact with internal and external clients, colleagues, and vendors daily
  • Ability to assist with and/or manage heavy document production and task management
  • Experience managing pre- and post-closing procedures is ideal
  • Flexibility to work overtime
  • Ability to stand and walk as necessary to work within files, cabinets, boxes, various file rooms, copier/scan machines; ability to lift up to 10 lbs. regularly in order to work within current and historical files


Pay Range for Candidates in Washington, DC:

$58,000 - $65,000 per year

The range provided is the minimum and maximum salary that Venable in good faith believes at the time of this posting that it is willing to pay for the advertised position. Exact compensation will be determined based on individual candidate qualifications and location.
