Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory has multiple openings for a Scientific Engineering Associate in Berkeley, CA.

Duties: Perform scientific data analysis using the scientific python stack. Provide technical support for investigation and development of image analysis for object detection and tracking. Participate in the software development and integration of multi-sensor systems. This includes managing software installation and dependencies, experimental testing and evaluation, and system design and refinement. Develop, implement, and optimize advanced data analyses. This includes multi-sensor data fusion, implementation and optimization of computer vision tools for novel applications, and optimization for either real-time or large- scale offline processing. Improve and maintain the ANP software infrastructure. This includes web -based applications, standalone software, and ANP software packages. Design and develop new software and user interfaces as ANP goals evolve. Perform research and development following best practices, ensuring reproducible and well documented results. Contribute to papers, reports, and proposals and make oral presentations of original work. May Telecommute.

Benefits: This full salary range of this position is between $82,728 to $139,644 per year depending upon

candidates' full skills, knowledge, and abilities, including education, certifications, and years of experience.

Requirements: Employer will accept a Master's degree in Computer Science, Operations Research and Information Engineering, Physics, Nuclear Engineering, Statistics, Data Science, or related field. Position requires:

1. Programming languages: Python, Java Script, C, or C++ for software development and data analysis;

2. Translating software design concepts into working systems;

3. Collaborative software development with git;

4. Cloud computing;

5. Performing research individually and as part of a group;

6. Linux ecosystem; and

7. Machine learning, computer vision, computer graphics, and statistical analysis.
