Job Overview:

RWJBarnabas Health is looking to add a qualified full-time Physical Therapist in our Inpatient Acute Department in Somerville, NJ. The Physical Therapist provides physical therapy services in accordance with the New Jersey Practice Act, standards of accreditation and State regulatory bodies, and the Code of Ethics of the APTA.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Graduate of an accredited program in Physical Therapy at the Doctorate or Master s level
• Licensed in NJ
• Experience in an Acute Care environment

Preferred:

• Active membership in a professional organization
• Experience with Post-Stroke patients and post-surgical patients, orthopedics and ICU

Certifications and Licenses Required:

• BLS certification through American Heart Association

Scheduling Requirements:

• Day Shift, 40 hours/week
• Full-Time Schedule
• Weekend rotation

Essential Functions:

• Strong teamwork, communication and documentation skills are required for intra-disciplinary and interdisciplinary communication
• Examines and evaluates patients upon referral from a physician, podiatrist, dentist, or nurse practitioner
• Plans and implements specific treatment for patients to reverse impairments, restore function, and facilitate the development of skills essential for adaptive and productive living
• Participates in PI and physical therapy clinical education programs
