Temporary (Remote) Part-time Social Media and Marketing Specialist - WVU Keyser

The President's Office at West Virginia University Potomac State is currently accepting applications for a Part-time Social Media and Marketing Specialist. We seek a part-time Social Media & Marketing Specialist to enthusiastically support the student perspective for PSC marketing efforts by elevating our social media presence and helping us create new engaging content. If you have a creative mind and have experience utilizing social media platforms, please consider this amazing opportunity to work directly with the PSC Campus President office.

What You'll Do

• Assist in producing rough draft to final form of social media content for President's social media accounts
• Proofreads all typed material and corrects errors in sentence structure, grammar, spelling, and punctuation
• Reviews/edits materials created for other offices when needed, such as Alumni Relations
• Assist in creating and/or edits to video content for President's Office for social media accounts and marketing purposes
• Ensures that daily social media posting is uploaded successfully
• Attend planned and/or coordinated events such as special events, workshops, seminars and conferences, when needed for coverage
• Disseminate posts to clients and customers, as requested
• Assist in conducting social media interviews, when necessary

Pay Grade: 12

Length of Assignment: 8.5 Months

Work Hours: 15 hours per week

• Associate's Degree
• A minimum of 6 months of experience utilizing social media platforms and creating marketing strategies
• Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered
• All qualifications must be met by the time of employment

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Computer Skills: Preferably have video editing skills and experience creating videos, reels and blogs/vlogs. A strong foundation in social media outlets like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok.
  
• Creative: Able to see an obstacle or challenge and envision ways over, under, or around it; ability to generate innovative ideas. A passion for marketing, social media, and classic arcade games, which drives energy and excitement for the work.
