Senior Director Product Integrity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Director Product Integrity to provide strategic leadership and direction globally to ensure products meet quality, safety, and compliance standards throughout their lifecycle. With 1,300 employees, 19 global facility locations and selling into over 80 countries, the Senior Director Product Integrity will oversee the development and implementation of processes, test plans, and standards to maintain product integrity.


Leadership and Strategy
:



  • Builds and leads a high-performing global team across compliance, safety, and quality functions.
  • Provides strategic direction and leadership on product integrity, safety, compliance, and quality. Ensures alignment with the overall business goals of the company, in collaboration with senior leadership.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Legal, Operations, and Customer Service to embed integrity into every stage of product development and delivery.
  • Report regularly to executive leadership on product integrity KPIs, risks, and improvement plans.



Product Compliance
:



  • Leads global compliance programs to ensure all products meet applicable regulatory, environmental, and industry standards (e.g., UL, CE, FCC, RoHS, REACH).
  • Monitors evolving global regulations and proactively adapt internal policies and product designs.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies and certification agencies.



Product Quality
:



  • Develops and implements global quality standards, metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Oversees quality assurance and control processes across design, manufacturing, and post-market surveillance.
  • Drives root cause analysis and resolution of systemic quality issues.


Product Safety:



  • Develops and oversees product safety strategies, risk assessments, and hazard analyses throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Develops risk mitigation strategies and a risk management framework to monitor and address emerging risks.
  • Leads incident investigation and corrective action processes for safety-related issues.
  • Champions a safety-first culture across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams.



Collaboration and Communication
:



  • Works closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, manufacturing, and legal, to ensure cohesive and compliant product strategies.
  • Facilitates effective communication and collaboration between engineering teams and other departments.
  • Represents the product integrity and compliance function in senior management meetings and provide regular updates on key metrics.


Training and Development:



  • Mentors and develops engineering staff, fostering a culture of safety, compliance, and quality.
  • Provides training and development opportunities to enhance team skills and knowledge.
  • Promotes a continuous learning environment within the team.



Monitoring and Reporting
:



  • Tracks product performance, analyzing data and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Provides reports to senior management on product integrity key metrics, performance, and potential risks.
  • Maintains comprehensive documentation of compliance and quality assurance processes and activities.

:



  • Performs other duties as assigned.



Supervisory/Management Responsibilities:



  • Prepares and approves department budgets while ensuring budgets are managed within approved guidelines.
  • Develops and approves departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines to meet business needs.
  • In partnership with human resources, performs human resources responsibilities for staff which includes but is not limited to the following: hiring and terminating employees, promotions/pay adjustments, staff development, performance evaluations, resolution of employee concerns and disciplinary counseling.



What you need to succeed:



  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, or equivalent
  • Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of engineering leadership experience directing, developing, and executing product safety, compliance, and quality in a consumer durable goods industry.
  • Deep knowledge of global regulatory frameworks and quality systems (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 13485, Six Sigma, FMEA).
  • Proven track record in directing product recalls, audits, and regulatory inspections.
  • Extensive experience in product compliance management, including risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and address potential compliance issues.
  • Successful experience developing and implementing strategic processes and improvements.
  • Expertise in overseeing/directing project management from concept development to implementation and evaluation. Demonstrated leadership skills and abilities to effectively provide direction, guidance, and motivation to a team as well as produce quality and profitable results.
  • General business acumen that demonstrates an understanding of the impact that product costs, schedule commitment, and high quality have on the success of a product as well as the overall profitability of the company.
  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills to manage and mentor teams, set vision and strategy and drive execution.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to effectively partner with multiple departments internally and diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) or similar products.
