What You'll Do As a Smart Care Lead Service Technician you will be a local technical resource assisting other technicians with problem resolutions. Under the direction of district Manager, this position will provide day-to-day work direction, guidance, coaching and feedback to technicians. Lead Service Technician will also provide preventive maintenance, warranty work, repair services, and parts for commercial cooking, refrigeration, beverage and other kitchen equipment in restaurants, hotels, nursing homes, schools, and corporations. Main Responsibilities
- Perform troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance on commercial foodservice equipment including, but not limited to, refrigeration equipment, cooking equipment, beverage equipment, and dish machines.
- Provide training and coaching to market Technicians.
- Share technical advice and expertise with Technicians by phone and in person as needed.
- Serve as the onsite leader in multi-Technician and highly complex service assignments.
- Promote appropriate Smart Care services, products and maintenance programs.
- Participate in the interview and selection process by assisting the District Manager in evaluating the technical competency of candidates.
- Execute exemplary troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrate positive leadership actions by participating fully in team meetings, assisting the District Manager with the roll-out of new initiatives, and leading by example with customers and fellow associates.
- Accompany the District Manager on sales calls to assist in the preparation of accurate contract proposals based on the specific customer equipment.
- Provide feedback to the District Manager regarding Technician or market questions, concerns, and issues.
- Commit to ongoing self-development ensuring skill levels remain best in class and encourage others to do the same.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
- Build strong customer relationships, focusing on customer needs and expectations.
- Effectively manage time and resources to control costs, enhance efficiencies and meet commitments.
Position Requirements
- Ability to frequently kneel, bend, squat, push, pull and reach above and below waist.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds up to 25 feet. Occasional lifting and carrying, with or without assistance, of items up to 70 pounds.
- Ability to work in damp and/or humid conditions, coolers/freezers at freezing temperatures.
- Ability to work with moving mechanical parts, pressurized steam equipment, open flames, heated surfaces, liquids, and risk of electrical shock.
- Ability to work on ladders, roofs, and in rare cases, high, precarious places.
Qualifications Basic:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 5 years of commercial kitchen equipment maintenance/repair experience
- At least __ years of service with Smart Care
- Master CFESA certification
- Skilled in both refrigeration and cooking equipment
- Performance at or above target in productivity over the past 6 months (on average)
- Valid driver's license, acceptable MVR report, and acceptable safety record
Preferred:
- Relevant licenses, certifications, and training completion
- Post-secondary education (Technical or Associate's Degree)
- Ability to work independently
- Exceptional communication skills
- Prior experience providing technical training or coaching
- Prior Lead or Supervisory experience
