Job Summary:
|
This posting is for an Entry Laboratory Sciences Professional to plan and carry out experiments, analyze and interpret data, and aid in the publication of data. Research related to the study and development of T-cell-based immunotherapies for cancer will be conducted in an experimental laboratory (or wet lab). Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with and support Principal Investigators (PI) and other stakeholders to carry out laboratory and research functions.
- Utilize a variety of laboratory techniques required for research projects.
- Conduct experiments to generate data in line with the research project.
- Record and maintain accurate logs of experimental procedures and data.
- Tabulate and analyze data and regularly present data and experimental procedures to the PI or other lab members.
- Present or assist in the presentation of research findings through oral and written presentation of data.
- Assist in the maintenance of the lab for daily operations, including restocking materials, ordering of supplies, maintenance of equipment, and maintenance of lab safety and cleanliness.

Qualifications:
|
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, biochemistry, genetics, or other field related to the biomedical sciences.
- Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. Conditions of Employment:
- Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check.
- Must be willing to work as part of a team consisting of members of all backgrounds.
- Must be willing to work with mice, human cells, recombinant DNA, and retroviruses.
- The incumbent is required to respond after hours during emergencies and report to work for regular assigned shifts during emergency campus closures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics, or a related field.
- Prior experience or background within an experimental or wet lab (e.g., cell culture, rodent models, molecular biology techniques).
- Previous full-time employment in an academic research lab.
- Prior education in immunology.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of basic laboratory techniques, including safety procedures and techniques.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Knowledge of basic core concepts of biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, and chemistry.
- Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.

Anticipated Pay Range:
|
The hiring range for this position has been established as $46,274 to $58,861. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level. Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck.
