Mechanical Maintenance Planner

Your Job

Georgia Pacific's Naheola Mill is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Planner to support mechanical planning in the Pulp Mill Operations and Wood Yard. Reporting to the Maintenance Planner Leader for the mill's back-end, this role works closely with the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor, the E&I Planner, hourly mechanics, and other maintenance and operations personnel to ensure efficient and coordinated maintenance activities.

What You Will Do

* Prioritize and schedule work requests from the area gatekeeper and manufacturing engineers

* Assess job hazards, required materials, and permit needs to ensure a safe work environment

* Create standardized work orders for routine tasks

* Evaluate and update preventive maintenance asset strategies

* Audit completed jobs for accuracy and identify improvement opportunities

* Implement process changes to enhance efficiency

* Attend priority, planning, outage coordination, and schedule review meetings

* Participate in root cause analyses to boost equipment reliability

* Manage and coordinate contracted maintenance services

* Produce precision maintenance documentation for internal and external teams

* Keep equipment inventories and bills of materials up to date

* Plan and execute small-scale maintenance projects

* Rotate weekend on-call duty

* Work extended hours and weekends as needed

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• High School Diploma or GED
• Three (3) or more years of mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment OR Five (5) or more years of operational experience in a paper processing environment
• One (1) or more years of experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)

What Will Put You Ahead

• Experience with SAP and/or Passport
• Experience with Wood Pulping equipment
• Experience with hydraulic and vacuum pump systems
• Experience with continuous and batch digesting equipment
• Experience with rotating equipment
