Position Overview

Pantheon Data is seeking a Senior Marine Electronics Engineer / Software Engineer (Cybersecurity) to join our growing team. In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in shaping and securing the future of marine and shipboard electronics-leading the implementation of cybersecurity protocols, influencing system specifications, and supporting acquisition efforts in line with DoD cybersecurity frameworks

Responsibilities



  • Lead the application and execution of the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) across marine and shipboard electronic systems.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, acquisition, and program teams to define and implement cybersecurity requirements aligned with mission and regulatory needs.
  • Develop system specifications, technical documentation, and security controls for acquisition contracts and maritime electronic systems.
  • Provide expert guidance on the integration of cybersecurity into the design, architecture, and lifecycle of marine platforms and subsystems.
  • Support certification and accreditation efforts for shipboard and marine electronic systems in compliance with DoD standards.


Required Skills and Experience



  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 8+ years of documented experience in cybersecurity, with demonstrated expertise in the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Proven experience applying cybersecurity requirements within marine and shipboard environments.
  • Strong background in electronic system architecture, implementation, and secure system design.
  • Experience with specification development and acquisition contract support in a defense or maritime context.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented engineer with excellent communication skills and a team-focused mindset.
  • Ability to work effectively remotely in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and produce quality work.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite software including Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.


Education

BS or MS in a Technical, Engineering, or Marine field

Clearance Requirements

U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

Work Location

Hybrid - three (3) days a week at USCG HQ (DHS St. Elizabeth's Campus in D.C.)

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $130,000 - $140,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
