*The range provided is based on cost of living/geography and what we believe is reasonable in the market at the time of posting. This role may be eligible for annual bonus and annual merit increase, as well as long term compensation. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors.

How You'll Perform the Role

The Safety and Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring safety and compliance programs in the facility are up to date and functioning effectively. This will include the development and implementation of safety policies and procedures, conducting training, investigating incidents, managing regulatory compliance, and lead the Plant quality and SQF program.



  • Development, implementation, and administration of Safety, Quality, and SQF policies and procedures for all employees.
  • Establish and conduct training for all employees to meet Safety, Quality, and SQF requirements.
  • Perform Safety, Quality and SQF audits throughout the plant, report findings and take corrective action.
  • Develop and coordinate the safety strategy and tactical implementation for the plant.
  • Collaborate with plant staff on driving the safety culture to achieve an incident free workplace.
  • Recommend and implement safety programs to improve employee engagement and reduce the risk of safety incidents.
  • Responsible for keeping State Drug Free certification current and training employees on a drug-free workplace.
  • Work with corporate safety teams to ensure compliance reporting is completed on time and proper implementation and adherence to safety programs.
  • Administer and manage Worker's Compensation claims for the plant.
  • Lead investigation of all safety incidents, recommend robust corrective actions and work with the plant staff to implement actions.
  • Follow GMP's in compliance with all food safety requirements.
  • Lead and/or support Quality and SQF non-conformance investigations to develop robust corrective actions with the support of the plant staff.
  • Maintain up-to-date inspection reports, files, quality programs, and samples.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, review, and maintenance of the SQF System, including food safety fundamentals outlined in the SQF Code.
  • Facilitate customer questions by establishing customer relationships and working with corporate Quality teams and customer service.
  • Collect, organize, analyze, and report process data to internal and external customers, recommend and drive initiatives to improve processes.
  • Facilitate and assist support departments with technical expertise for process improvements and environmental compliance.



What We Need From You

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred with 5+ years of quality control management and/or safety leadership experience in a manufacturing environment or relevant working experience is required.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA and ANSI requirements and policies. OSHA certification is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to enforce safety protocols effectively and confidently.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and train various levels of employees.
  • Experience within an SQF or ISO regulated environment. SQF certification is highly desired.
  • Experience leading or facilitating external third-party audits.
  • Skilled in various root cause analysis tools and methodologies.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment utilizing TQM, Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma is preferred.
  • Demonstrated competence to work with minimum supervision effectively with all levels in the organization.
  • Must have good computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, Project Management Software.)
  • Must be accountable and self-driven to learn and continuously strive for improvement.
  • A team player who interacts effectively with co-workers in a group or independent cooperative activities
  • Must have strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
