Job Title: Quality Engineer

Location: Conyers, GA

What we're looking for:

We are looking for a Quality Engineer who will coordinate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Sales, and Supply Chain to resolve production and customer quality issues through systematic data collection and problem-solving methodologies that ensure sustainable quality improvement. The Quality Engineer will accomplish their objectives both as an individual contributor and as a team leader and will be expected to help build & foster a business environment that embraces quality assurance (QA) and continuous improvement as a key to the company's ongoing growth and success.

What you'll be responsible for in this role:

  • Proactively defining and executing Quality processes and standard operating procedures enabling Built in Quality and Quality at the Source
  • Leads structured problem-solving teams and activities focused on root cause analysis, sustainable countermeasures, and permanent corrective actions
  • Leads, creates, and maintains the following items:
    • Standard procedures and process flows
    • Process and final inspection plans
    • Receiving inspection plans
    • Inspection instructions and process flow
  • Assists the Quality Supervisor and Quality Engineers in day-to-day QA/QC duties
  • Data collection, data processing, data analysis
  • Conducts capability studies, internal and external audits
  • Determines quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to manufacturing processes
  • Liaison between Production, Customer Service, Supplier QA, and Engineering for issues affecting production
  • Coordinates PFMEA for New Product introduction and existing processes
  • Develops Quality Inspection Plans (Control Plans) for New Product introduction
  • Up to 10% of travel, domestic and international travel

What are the basic qualifications?

  • Bachelor's Degree (Engineering preferred)
  • 5+ years of manufacturing/quality or supplier quality experience

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering is preferred
  • Project a positive, solution-seeking attitude in all business interactions.
  • Solve complex business problems in both office and manufacturing environments.
  • Certification from Accredited body (CQE, CQM, Six Sigma Black Belt)
  • High competence with problem solving & quality assurance tools (PFMEA, CP, SPC...) with practical application experience
  • Project management experience and excellent written and verbal communication skills

To be a great fit for the role:

  • Proficient in Excel, Minitab, Excel, Word, Visio
  • Background in quality systems/supplier quality management systems and data collection
  • High-mix, high and low volume manufacturing experience (automotive, aerospace, etc.)
