Who we are and what we do: The State of Tennessee is seeking an experienced Salesforce Data Engineer to serve as a subject matter expert (SME) and technical authority in designing, implementing, and governing enterprise data solutions across Salesforce platforms. This role will support cross-agency initiatives utilizing Salesforce Public Sector Cloud and other Salesforce Clouds to enhance service delivery and citizen engagement. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge and expertise in Salesforce data models, API architecture, and data governance. This will also include leading efforts to develop and integrate AI agents and automation solutions that interact intelligently with Salesforce data, driving improved operational efficiency and informed decision-making. Key Responsibilities: 1. Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines, extract transform and load (ETL) processes, integrations, and APIs between Salesforce and external systems. 2. Optimize data ingestion and transformation processes in alignment with best practices for Salesforce data architecture. 3. Define and implement data storage, normalization, and performance strategies across Salesforce instances. 4. Lead the data modeling strategy across Salesforce Clouds, including Public Sector Cloud, Service Cloud, and Experience Cloud. 5. Monitor and manage data migration, deduplication, and cleansing efforts to ensure system consistency and integrity. 6. Design and deploy AI-powered agents that interact with Salesforce data for dynamic decision support, customer service, and workflow automation. 7. Collaborate with AI/ML specialists to integrate predictive models and generative AI assistants within Salesforce environments (e.g., Einstein GPT or other LLM-based tools). 8. Coordinate the implementation of data governance frameworks and best practices across client organizations, with a focus on Salesforce data ecosystems. 9. Work with the Salesforce product owner, business units, and stakeholders to align data governance requirements and strategies. 10. Support the development and enforcement of data standards, naming conventions, data ownership, and stewardship models including business glossaries, data dictionaries, and metadata for key Salesforce data assets. 11. Provide documentation and guidance for Salesforce data integrations, data cleansing initiatives, and deduplication strategies. Minimum Qualifications: 1. Salesforce certifications (e.g., Salesforce Administrator, Advanced Administrator, Data Architecture & Management Designer). 2. Experience with data governance and cataloging tools (e.g. Informatica, GenRocket). 3. Familiarity with consulting methodologies (e.g., Agile, ITIL, or TOGAF). 4. Knowledge of broader CRM ecosystems (e.g., integrations with Snowflake, Big Query, Informatica, MuleSoft, Tableau, or marketing platforms). 5. Developing and managing Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to move data into and out of Salesforce, often involving Salesforce APIs, data mapping, data cleansing, data modeling and architecture. 6. Proficient in Apex, SOQL, SOSL, Visualforce, Salesforce Flows, JavaScript, Salesforce DX, and Lightning Web Components (LWC) for Salesforce development, as well as having a solid foundation in programming concepts, databases, and potentially Python for data manipulation. 7. Data Analysis, strong problem solving and communication skills.
