One postdoctoral associate position is available immediately in the Dorothy M. Davis Heart and Lung Research Institute in the College of Medicine, the Ohio State University (OSU) Department of Surgery. The successful candidates will use integrated genetic, molecular, biochemical, and physiological approaches to investigate the pathological role of mitochondrial dysfunction in the development of heart failure. Our long-term goal is to translate the findings into the development of novel mitochondrial-targeted heart failure therapy. We seek motivated and creative individuals who recently received a Ph.D. in biomedical science/engineering. The ideal candidates should have a strong research background in animal studies with interests in cardiovascular medicine or gene therapy. Previous experience in molecular cloning, cell biology, and animal handling amp; microsurgery is highly desirable. Working experience in mitochondrial biology or optogenetics is a plus. |
