Gundersen Health System is seeking a skilled Perfusionist to support our high-performing surgical team.

Position Overview

As aCardiovascular Perfusionist, you will play a critical role in supporting cardiothoracic surgeries by operating the heart-lung machine and other circulatory support devices. You'll work closely with surgeons and clinical staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes during complex procedures.

What you will do:

  • Full-time salaried position
  • Standard shifts: 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday
  • Rotating weekday on-call schedule: 10:30 AM - 6:00 AM and rotating weekend call schedule. Call response time is 30-minutes.
  • Perfusionist will Operate heart-lung machines during cardiothoracic surgeries
  • Support ECMO cases, including setup, monitoring, and patient transfers
  • Run cell saver in ICU for post-op cardiac, vascular, ortho, and trauma cases
  • Assist with ventricular support devices (Balloon and Impella)
  • Perform daily and weekly equipment quality checks
  • Accompany patient during air transport and maintain helicopter transport certification for patient transfers

What you will need:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Cardiovascular Perfusion
  • 1 year experience in a professional field requiring either Bachelor's level education or a broad based knowledge in the Cardiovascular Perfusion field.
  • Perfusionist License for the state of Wisconsin
  • Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP)
  • Strong teamwork and flexibility
  • Experience with ECMO, cell saver, and cardiac surgery support preferred
