JOB DESCRIPTION:

SUMMARY

The Set-Up Tech II is responsible for maintaining optimum daily performance, run efficiency, and repeatability of all Thermoformer and Extruder machinery, equipment, and tools used in the Thermoforming manufacturing process. The Set-Up Tech II performs accurate and efficient mold set-ups and start-ups to maintain high level machine output and utilization. This position also participates in packing, shrink wrapping, and assembly activities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Performs all Set-Up Tech I responsibilities.
  • Responsible for monitoring part quality and completing First Article forms.
  • Manages the material system and coordinates silo changes.
  • Monitors mechanical systems for proper operations.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves processing problems as they arise.
  • Monitors scrap and makes necessary process changes to meet department KPI's.
  • Executes and monitors plans and activities based on schedule of priorities.
  • Coordinates activities with various departments to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Accurately completes daily system transactions within AS400 and Mattec systems.
  • Utilizes harness on the fall protection tether track system.
  • Maintain reliable and consistent attendance, including being punctual, and dependable in order to meet the needs of the department and the organization.
  • Execute each essential duty satisfactorily in order to perform job successfully.
  • Follows all safety procedures required in work area, wears PPE as needed, attends all safety meetings, and reports safety issues regarding equipment or unsafe/hazardous conditions.
  • Performs effectively as a team member, able to work well with others, open to receive and give feedback, and treats everyone with respect.
  • Takes ownership of own work and behavior, accepts accountability for own actions, encourages solutions, and communicates status of work/projects.
  • Follow all department quality standards/criteria. Raise concerns and issues to immediate manager.
  • Able to understand and demonstrate Cambro company culture, display company core values (Safety, Quality, Respect, and Service).
  • Understands department's key performance indicators and contributes to achieve these goals both individually and as a team.
  • Other duties as needed or required.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains good housekeeping standards within work area.
  • Learns duties and responsibilities of the Process Technician II towards future opportunities.
  • Trains employees on job functions as necessary.
  • Wears hairnet while performing job duties.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed, remain flexible and open to possible schedule changes in order to meet business needs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus one or more years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Understands or has the ability to understand the documented run parameters for new or existing department molds/materials.
  • Possesses technical skills and experience and/or the aptitude to learn and apply the skills necessary for efficient processing and troubleshooting.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Three or more years of related experience.
