Valiant is looking for a Part-time Casual Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Instructor in Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear (CBRN) related activities. The CBRN SME/Instructor works with a team to deliver individual and team training for the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) Counter Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) Security Cooperation Engagement Program (CSCEP). The CBRN SME/Instructor trains partner nation personnel and organizations in CWMD skills and may be required to deliver subject matter expertise on the subject. This is a part-time on-call position. The SME/Instructor fits into a rotation for various international training engagements. The SME/Instructor works during preparation, travel, delivery of training, and post-training reporting. Engagements may not follow a regular schedule. This position requires extensive international travel.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, organize, coordinate, and facilitate preparatory activities such as senior leader seminars, workshops and conferences for the purpose of data gathering and plan/report development.
- Prepare instructor notes and review course materials.
- Instruct partner nation personnel in select CWMD topics in accordance with lesson plans.
- Assess student performance during activities, daily hot washes, and post-event evaluations.
- Plan, organize, and coordinate post-event activities such as after-action reviews (AARs), hot washes, and after-action reports.
- Conduct training/capability assessments with interagency and foreign partner nations for CWMD scenarios.
- Develop instructional objectives using capability/training assessments and collaborating with first responder, partner nation, and other interagency training managers to assist in developing training and exercise curricula for foreign CWMD actions and activities.
- Provide input on the development of training/exercise plans for foreign partner nations. Activities include but are not limited to planning, organizing, and coordinating event facilitation, training/exercise event design, Master Scenario Events Listing (MSEL) development, exercise control cell development, and exercise/training event assessments.
- Provide expertise as needed for on-call requirements, including new course reviews and curriculum development.
- Work well within a team consisting of personnel from the customer, the Department of State, the Combatant Command, the partner nation and fellow Valiant Associates.
- Follow work plans and record time in accordance with company policy.
- Conduct travel and submit reimbursement in accordance with company policy.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Training certifications to the standards of National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 470 or equivalent required.
- Associate's degree, PREFERRED: bachelor's or master's degree.
CLEAREANCE REQUIREMENT: Active Secret clearance
- 10+ years of experience with defense and CBRN Responder and leader required; PREFERRED: 10+ years of experience working in civil/military emergency operations preferred.
- Prior experience in the area of CWMD and/or foreign consequence management to include the Defense Threat Reduction Agency's (DTRA) exercise program and planning guide, and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Instruction 3214.01A (Military Support to Foreign Consequence Management Operations) is preferred.
- Experience developing, planning, and participating in CBRN training events or exercises is preferred. * Extensive knowledge of first responder operational requirements and training needs is preferred.
- Familiar with performing training capability or training needs assessments.
- Experience with the operation of drones with a drone license preferred.
- Strong proficiency in the Microsoft office Suite of tools.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Prioritize work, complete multiple tasks and work under deadlines.
- Must possess excellent reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with senior Government and Industry leaders.
- Understand and envision the full scope of programs and tasks but be able to work on detailed tasks in support of DTRA programs.
- Capable of completing research to the satisfaction of the Valiant CSCEP Task Lead.
- Excellent communicative skills, both verbal and written.
- Available and able to travel unaccompanied to foreign and domestic locations.
- Possess a valid US Passport and a valid US state issued driver's license.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Physical requirements may include, but are not limited to, lifting, ascending, and descending stairs, climbing, extended sitting or standing, to various degrees. This job involves primarily working outdoors and exposure to the temperatures and elements associated with the region.
- Must be capable of transporting and lifting 40-pound boxes of documents and equipment.
