Job Details:
Mercer University's Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is searching for a Speech-Language Pathologist.

Responsibilities:

Working in the adult Crisis Services Diagnostic Outpatient Center (CSDC), the Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating individuals with speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders. This role involves developing individualized treatment plans, providing direct therapy services, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support patients' or students' communication needs. The SLP ensures services are delivered in accordance with professional standards, ethical guidelines, and applicable federal and state regulations.

Qualifications:

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders from an accredited program and three years of directly relevant experience, which includes clinical experience in evaluation and treatment of communication and/or swallowing disorders are required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Works calmly in a fast-paced healthcare facility.
  • Works independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft programs and EHR systems.
  • Implements actionable plans to meet established goals and objectives.
  • Collaborates with coworkers and has strong interpersonal skills.
  • Communicates effectively and has strong public speaking skills.
  • Learns quickly and has strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Develop strong relationships with patients and their families and communicate with empathic skills.
