GENERAL FUNCTION

The Director of Asset Protection is responsible for developing and executing the organization's security, loss prevention, and risk management strategies across multiple sites, regions, or business units, with a focus on Logistics and Transportation Safety and Security. This role provides strategic leadership, ensuring all Asset Protection programs align with corporate goals, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. The Director partners with executive leadership to drive security innovation, mitigate risks, and enhance operational efficiency.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Develops and executes a comprehensive Asset Protection strategy across all assigned sites or business units.
  • Leads and mentors a team of Senior AP Managers, AP Managers, and Security Leaders to ensure consistency in Asset Protection standards within Distribution Centers, Transportation, and 3rd-Party Logistics partners.
  • Establishes and enforces risk mitigation policies, security protocols, and compliance frameworks.
  • Oversees multi-site investigations, Asset Protection initiatives, and audit programs.
  • Supports corporate risk management programs, including:

    • Enterprise Security & Crisis Response
    • Business Continuity & Emergency Preparedness
    • Regulatory Compliance & Governance
    • Advanced Fraud Prevention
    • National Project Management
    • CTPAT, OEA, and TAPA Requirements


  • Oversees the organization's response to critical incidents, ensuring business continuity and regulatory compliance.
  • Develops and refines Asset Protection policies to address emerging risks, workplace violence prevention, and supply chain security.
  • Leads enterprise-wide shrink reduction, loss prevention, and operational security strategies.
  • Establishes KPIs, benchmarks, and analytics-based risk assessments to measure security effectiveness.
  • Oversees physical security infrastructure, technology upgrades, and AI-driven analytics platforms.
  • Ensures the integration of AP strategies with Operations, Legal, IT Security, and HR.
  • Partners with senior executives, business unit leaders, and corporate stakeholders to drive Asset Protection initiatives.
  • Serves as the corporate liaison to law enforcement, legal teams, and government agencies on security matters.
  • Presents strategic security insights, data analysis, and compliance reports to executive leadership.
  • Manages the Asset Protection budget, ensuring cost-effective security investments.
  • Identifies opportunities for technology advancements, process automation, and efficiency improvements.
  • Drives a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS



  • Bachelor's degree
  • 12+ years of experience in Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or Corporate Security, with at least 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
  • CPP, CLSBB, or PMP preferred
  • Strong leadership experience managing multi-site security operations and corporate-level AP programs.
  • Expertise in risk management, regulatory compliance, and enterprise investigations.
  • High-level proficiency in AI-driven security technology, analytics, and automation.
  • Strong business acumen, with experience managing security budgets and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Excellent ability to influence, negotiate, and collaborate with executive leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to travel as needed.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • Master's degree (MBA or security-related field).

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
