Experiential Brand Project Designer

Overview:

An established professional who develops project and design solutions to advance respective experiential branding project(s). Leads by example in all aspects of projects' production processes that will allow the client's work to be implemented in a seamless way from the concepts developed with the team. Teaches and mentors staff, while also working as a solid team player. Embodies and expresses the firm's values and mission.

Responsibilities:

  • Delivers and may lead experiential branding services (Environmental Branding, Branding, Signage & Wayfinding, Digital Experiences) for respective project(s)
  • Creates and may review client presentations that communicate experiential brand strategies and designs for respective project(s)
  • Creates and may review design intent documents and final production-ready artwork
  • Creates and may review signage location plans and message schedules
  • Visualizes ideas in two and three dimensions
  • Collaborates to establish the basic design concept for the project; conceptualizes and depicts a design approach/solution to the team
  • Looks to discover opportunities to amplify the character of a place, conveying the brand's identity in imaginative and compelling ways through close collaboration with clients and the team
  • Facilitates coordination and clear communication of information among project team members
  • May assist with technical resolution and coordination for a defined portion of a project
  • May previews design concepts, may recommend improvement in techniques and quality prior to final issue, and may recommend adjustments to design concept
  • Interacts professionally and collaborates to facilitate clear communication with clients and team
  • Maintains and prioritizes multiple competing priorities within tight deadlines
  • Participates and may lead team meetings to discuss project issues, technical issues and coordination with other disciplines
  • Travel may be required

Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • Accredited professional degree in Graphic Design, Architecture, Industrial Design, Computer Graphics or related field
  • Typically with 6+ years of experiential branding services (Environmental Branding, Branding, Signage & Wayfinding, Digital Experiences)
  • Intermediate experience working with clients in several markets including: commercial interiors, health, higher education, sports and venues required
  • Intermediate experience working within specialty installations required
  • Intermediate experience in visual programming software such as CADtools (SketchUp or other 3D software) required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Advanced - expert-level experience, knowledge or skills

Intermediate - experience, knowledge or skills required to produce high-quality solutions or work

Basic - familiar with primary concepts or capabilities and may perform elementary functions depending on role

  • Advance experience with Adobe Creative Suite required
  • Intermediate experience in MS Office Suite required
  • Basic experience with Revit required
  • Intermediate understanding of working in a built-environment, able to comprehend architectural scales, sections, plans and elevations required
  • Intermediate knowledge of sustainability, integrated design guidelines and building codes required
  • Intermediate knowledge of experiential branding processes and its integration into architectural and construction processes required
  • Intermediate presentation skills required
  • Intermediate organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time required
  • Intermediate ability to communicate ideas in sketches and renderings required
  • Intermediate ability to establish messages, review sign text and layout to ensure effectiveness, accuracy of compliance and final design with established signage standards, design and logos required
  • Intermediate ability to plan for the assigned projects and execute as per the specifications of the established design required
  • Intermediate ability to read architectural plans and drawings and scales proficiently required
  • Intermediate ability to communicate in a clear, concise and professional manner both verbally and in writing required
  • Intermediate ability to problem solve and collaborate on innovative solutions required
  • Intermediate ability to collaborate and encourage collaboration in team environment required
  • Intermediate ability to effectively meet deadlines at expected quality required
