Description This is a grant-funded, full-time position with the TRIO program. The Student Success Coach will engage, orient, support and track First Time in College FGC students to be successful by cultivating habits that will result in academic success. This is a highly structured supportive position involving one-on-one Student success coaching by multiple methods including in-person, by telephone (voice and/or text), and email. Success coaches motivate students toward their academic goals by providing structure, support, feedback, and referrals while tracking and documenting student progress. College success and persistence to graduation is dependent on a variety of factors including time management and organization, finances, study strategies/habits, health and wellness, school/work/life balance, and campus involvement. Success coaches will collaborate inter-departmentally with instructors and other college departments to ensure success of students, increase student retention, and persistence to graduation. An important part of the Success Coach position is to stay current on research involving models of student success and retention and attend meetings with community and college groups as needed. He/she should have the ability to work a flexible schedule that could include evenings. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree in Student Development, Counseling, Psychology, Education, or related fields. Experience with Florida's state rules and regulations to work with faculty and outside community leaders; and to plan, organize, and attend to details on all paperwork. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
