Student Services Specialist (Short Term) Job ID: 321573 Location: Rio Salado Community College Full/Part Time: Regular/Temporary: Regular Hiring Salary Range $19.17 - $23.99/hourly, DOE Grade 109 Work Schedule Mon-Thur, 10am - 7pm; Fri - 8am-5pm. Occasional Saturdays required. Weeks including Saturdays will include an additional weekday off. This position offers remote work allowing employees a combination of onsite and work from home options. Required to work at least three (3) days per week in the office. Job Summary This position assists in coordinating all aspects of proctoring academic exams for Rio Salado College's Online and Distance Learning (DL) students, to include Rio Salado Virtual Proctoring (RVP), the college's live virtual proctoring system. This position provides a high-level of customer service to students by administering a variety of academic assessments within the Rio Salado College Testing Department. This position follows and implements strict policies and procedures for online test administration and provides administrative and technical support to students, customers, proctors and team members. Collaborates with faculty, leadership, external departments and outside institutions to ensure proctoring processes promote student success while also support academic integrity standards. Essential Functions 40% - Administers a variety of academic assessments to students using various online systems and software while providing a high-level of direct customer service; acts as the official test proctor for these exams in a virtual setting; uses technology and various meeting platforms such as WebEx to supervise and monitor testing and ensure assessments are administered in accordance with defined rules and procedures; maintains confidential testing records, databases, exams, and reports; supports the Student Services Specialist Senior in ensuring a secure and appropriate testing environment 25% - Provides support to Distance Learning (DL) students, faculty, other staff members and external customers through in-person, phone, chat and email correspondence; provides a high-level of technical support to students, test candidates, and other team members through troubleshooting; supports team and staff members by being the subject matter expert in all areas of DL Proctoring; collaborates with faculty, outside departments, and external companies regarding testing issues; supports a diverse population to include international, military, and incarcerated students, all while working in a team environment 25% - Research and documents testing discrepancies; verifies and approves proctors according to established guidelines; sets up on-line testing and develops instructional guides for proctors; prepares and maintains reports related to testing and statistical data; utilizes scheduling platforms such as ConexED to support the Student Services Specialist Senior to build and manage appointment schedules 10% - Assists with the implementation of proctoring policies and procedures; stays current on best practices, compliance standards, and innovations in virtual and in-person proctoring to support continuous improvement; performs other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution, and one year full-time of student services or college teaching experience or experience assisting with educational program development and coordination, student advisement, financial aid, or related student development programs. OR An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered Desired Qualifications A. Bachelor's Degree Special Working Conditions This is position is located at the Rio Salado College Tempe Testing Center, located at 2323 W. 14th Street Tempe, AZ 85281. Occasional travel to other Testing Center locations may be required for training and coverage purposes. The position's hours are Mon - Thur, 10am - 7pm; Fri, 8am-5pm. Occasional Saturday shifts are required. May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen. May be required to lift or carry up to 25 lbs.
