Symetra has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Compensation Analyst! About the role In this role, you'll play a key role in ensuring our pay programs are competitive, equitable, and aligned with our overall business strategy. What you will do
- Conduct ongoing job evaluations and market pricing analyses to determine appropriate compensation levels, ensuring internal equity and external competitiveness.
- Support the design, implementation, and administration of Symetra's base pay and short-term incentive programs.
- Analyze workforce data and compensation trends to deliver meaningful insights through monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
- Lead the end-to-end compensation survey process, from selecting and submitting surveys to analyzing and interpreting results.
- Perform in-depth market analysis to benchmark roles and advise pay decisions.
- Create regular and ad hoc reports to support compensation programs and evaluate their effectiveness.
- Support the annual salary review process by preparing data, modeling outcomes, and partnering with HR and business leaders.
- Perform data analysis to assess compensation structures and forecast future impacts.
- Find opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the optimization of compensation systems and practices.
- Provide guidance and training to managers and HR Business Partners on compensation philosophy, policies, and tools.
- Stay current on compensation trends, compliance requirements, and standard methodologies to advise program evolution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance and Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, and Talent Management to align compensation strategies with business objectives and workforce planning.
Who You Are
- High School Diploma required. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, ideally in Business, Finance, Human Resources, Economics, Statistics, or a related field preferred.
- 2-4 years of experience in a compensation role or a similar analytical position involving data analysis, reporting, or modeling.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner.
- Proven analytical, organizational, and project management skills, with experience handling end-to-end processes.
- Hard-working and accountable, with a proven ability to take ownership of work and drive tasks through to completion with minimal oversight.
- Solid understanding of modern compensation practices, principles, and current market trends.
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation, or progress toward certification, is preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, v-lookups, formulas) and PowerPoint.
- Experience with MarketPay and ADP systems is a plus.
- Proficiency in Power BI or similar analytics and business intelligence platforms is preferred.
