Description

Acara Solution is looking for an Advanced Electrical Engineer for our client located in Manassas, VA.

  • Analyze and design AC-DC and DC-DC power systems and power control
  • Integrate, test, troubleshoot, and verify electrical hardware
  • Develop test criteria and assist in the design of test systems
  • Perform component and architecture trade studies to determine optimal system solutions to design hardware and electronics based on commercial and industry components and technologies
  • Design cable assemblies
  • Develop new electronics in the form of PCB designs and corresponding tests
  • Develop technical presentations, recommendations, and written communications to explain technical issues to program management and the Navy customer
  • Generate design and interface documentation
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Science or Engineering or Mathematics.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in technical to become an integral member of the engineering team dedicated to the development of military-grade electronics the Common Weapon Launcher (CWL) system.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the engineering development life cycle, including concept, requirements, design, implementation, and test phases.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in MIL-STD-1399 and MIL-STD-461 design and qualification.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in design and debug of switch mode DC-DC converters including control loop stability analysis.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in design and debug of 3-phase AC-DC conversion including transformer design.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in analog and digital circuit design.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in lab equipment including signal generators, high speed oscilloscopes, power analyzers.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree.
  • Working knowledge of common communication interfaces such as RS-422, RS-485, and LVDS
  • Proficiency in all phases of PCB design, including creation of high-level functional diagrams, SPICE analysis, power analysis, component selection, schematic entry, and working with the PCB layout team to optimize placement, signal integrity, fitment.
  • Good documentation and communication skills
  • OrCAD Capture experience.
  • Experience with firmware or microcontrollers.
  • Experience with VHDL/Verilog.
