Jitterbug is a qualified person who can use various hand and mechanical grinders and sanders to remove specific amounts of material to prescribed guidelines for a desired finish or thickness of a part or tool. Jitterbug Finish The process of using an orbital sander with varying sandpaper grits to produce a smooth, uniform, non-directional finish that can be anodized, plated or polished. Correctly done, the resultant jitterbug finish shall be uniform and free of grain burn or any missed area. Set up parts on pedestals, clean parts using prescribed cleaning agents Operate, or tend grinding and related tools that remove excess material, burrs from surfaces, Deburr edges, buff, hone, or polish metal Performs typical jitterbug / deburr operations to support the production schedule Prior to jitterbug finishing, review the planned operation Obtain sandpaper in the grits specified Perform the jitterbug operation on the entire part with the first sandpaper grit specified, then proceed to the second grit, and so on Verify there are no areas of grain burn or any that were missed during the jitterbug operation Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition Follows prescribed safety regulations and guidelines Must participate in O.J.T (on the job training) as directed from time to time Equal Opportunity Employer.
