This recruitment is for a Temporary Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator position through UC Irvine's internal temporary staffing department.


Your Role on the Team

Summary of the Work to be Performed:

The Lincoln Lab located in the Joe C. Wen School of Population & Public Health & the Center for Environmental Health Disparities Research (CEHDR) has a position for a part-time (10 - 14 hours per week) survey interviewer. The survey interviewer will support the Lincoln Lab under the supervision of Dr. Karen D. Lincoln in the implementation of two community-based research studies by attending scheduled events and site visits to conduct in-person surveys for two funded studies: 1) Joy & Pain: Sex Differences in the Influence of Psychosocial Stress, Inflammatory Pathways and Pain on Dementia Risk in Black Americans and 2) Say It Loud: Feasibility to develop a Black aging cohort in Southern California using Social Determinants of Health (SDOH).


What It Takes to be Successful

Summary of essential job functions:

The survey interviewer adheres to the study protocol to identify and interview at various study sites to complete all associated study data collection that is complete and accurate; performs related responsibilities as required. Assignment may involve working holidays and/or Saturdays/Sundays.

Minimum requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent; relevant college coursework. Prior research experience is highly desired.

Abilities required:

  • Must be able to work independently to meet deadlines.
  • Fluent in English, written and verbal.
  • Ability to explain research study in a professional and ethical manner.
  • Successful completion of study training session and related certifications.
  • Receptive to monitoring and constructive feedback from supervisors to improve quality of interviews and interviewing techniques.
  • Ability to use a computer tablet.
  • Able to interact effectively with a diverse range of people.
  • Legible handwriting.
  • Own transportation (personal vehicle or public transit).

Total Compensation

Pay Rate: $27.40

Working Hours: Monday, Wednesday, Friday between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM.

TEMPORARY EMPLOYMENT

This is a temporary employment recruitment reporting to the UCI Temporary Employment Services (TES) Department. Interviewing and hiring is based on internal hiring needs and how well the candidate's experience matches the assignment requirements.Certaintemporary assignments may require clearance of a health physical or require a valid California Driver's License for driving university vehicles.

The majority of our temporary positions are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. We also have occasional part-time, weekend, and evening hours available, depending on the assignment. Comprehensive benefits options are also available for temporary employees, including paid vacation, holidays, and sick leave.
