The University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) University Library seeks a highly collaborative, innovative and experienced librarian to provide leadership, strategic planning, and organizational efficiency at Chicago's only public Research 1 University library system. The Associate Dean and Associate University Librarian for Information Services will supervise the unit heads who lead Access Services, Research Services and Resources (reference), and Scholarly Communications. This position will also serve as liaison to UIC Faculty Affairs to coordinate promotion and tenure. Reporting to the Dean of Libraries and University Librarian, the Associate University Librarian for Information Services will work in close collaboration with the Associate University Librarian for the UIC Health Sciences Libraries to ensure that the library system supports the diverse information and research needs of the university community. Serving as a member of the library's senior leadership team, the Associate University Librarian for Information Services will share in policy-making decisions and management responsibilities and work to develop and implement priorities that align with UIC's mission and vision. This tenure system appointment includes the expectation that the faculty member will be actively engaged in and significantly contribute to the profession through research/scholarship and service related to professional and scholarly interests. This includes publication, presentation, and committee work at various levels. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity.
