What You Will Do:

As a Payroll Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the financial well-being of our employees by managing accurate and timely payroll operations. Your work will directly impact employee satisfaction and the company's compliance with financial and contractual obligations. You will collaborate closely with HR, Finance, and project managers to maintain seamless payroll processes, support audits, and uphold data integrity across systems. Your attention to detail and commitment to accuracy will help drive operational excellence and support the company's broader financial goals.



  • Administer and maintain employee payroll records, including setting up new hires and updating changes in the financial system to ensure accurate timesheet access and reporting.
  • Monitor and communicate payroll deadlines, holidays, and best practices to employees, ensuring timely and accurate timesheet submissions.
  • Perform time corrections and compile payroll adjustments in coordination with project managers and the Payroll Administrator.
  • Reconcile employee data across systems (Workday, BST, Principal) and assist with audits, including 401(k) and FAR compliance.
  • Serve as a backup for bi-weekly payroll processing and support special projects and certified payroll requests as needed.

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree or higher a plus, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in payroll or human resources, within the Architecture/Engineering/Construction (A/E/C) industry, a plus
  • Technical Skills:


    • Familiarity with payroll and accounting systems such as BST and Workday, a plus
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, basic formulas, and data manipulation.

    • Strong data entry and organizational skills
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-based environment
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills
    • Flexible and positive attitude with the ability to adapt to changing business needs
