Lead Legal Technician

Duties



  • Must meet requirements for Legal Technician
  • Delegate workload and assign Probable Cause Statements and Petitions to Legal Technicians
  • Review Probable Cause Statements completed by the Legal Technician ensuring that seizure justifications are supported
    by Federal forfeiture statutes, that there are no spelling or grammar errors, and that there is enough factual support for the seizure
  • Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to corresponding with field agents to acquire additional information
    on seizures and submitting Probable Cause Statements to the Office of Chief Counsel for approval
  • Review petition recommendations prepared by the Legal Technicians
  • Submit petition recommendations to the Office of Chief Counsel for ruling
  • Responsible for training new hires
  • Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual status reports
  • Other duties as mission needed and within the scope of this contract


Qualifications:



  • 1 year of management experience If substituting Paralegal certification for J.D., minimum of two years paralegal experience
  • A Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school, or a Paralegal certification with an undergraduate degree from
    a four-year accredited university or college, with required experience
