You'll collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to define system requirements, design battery systems, specify components, and support both business development and operations teams.

Your responsibilities will span the full project lifecycle-from initial design and sizing through development, installation, commissioning, and operation. You'll generate detailed bills of materials for cost evaluation and serve as the primary engineering interface for EPC partners, ensuring technical excellence throughout project execution.

What You Will Do:

  • Oversee all technical aspects of project execution-from design through commissioning and operation-serving as the primary engineering interface for EPC partners and Owner's Engineers
  • Support business development by identifying technical requirements, engaging with utilities and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs), and contributing to proposals and cost evaluations
  • Review and ensure compliance with system designs and drawings with ENGIE standards, NEC, IEEE, and other applicable codes and regulations
  • Independently lead and collaborate with project teams to deliver high-quality electrical engineering, including oversight of consultants and contractors, ensuring compliance with company policies, safety standards, interconnection agreements, and overall project objectives
  • Generate and update site layouts, grading and stormwater plans, single line and utility diagrams, and incorporate external survey, geotechnical, and consultant drawings-maintaining company CAD standards
  • Support Operations & Maintenance (O&M) teams through training, troubleshooting, and staying current on emerging technologies, industry standards, and regulatory changes

What You'll Bring

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • At least five (5) years of experience in renewable systems engineering, with a focus on battery energy storage
  • Extensive technical expertise in battery energy storage systems (BESS), including inverters, transformers, substations, protection and controls, battery management and energy management systems
  • Proven experience managing projects across the full lifecycle-from design through commissioning-while collaborating with EPCs, SMEs, and O&M teams
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills applied to complex BESS challenges, including system integration and performance optimization
  • Proficiency in creating, reading, and interpreting construction plans and technical specifications
  • Advanced AutoCAD Civil3D experience to create and revise full civil drawing sets for utility scale BESS sites
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with internal stakeholders, utilities, and regulatory authorities
