SUMMARY Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced MEP Design Phase Manager that will provide overall management direction and expertise for design phase activities for one or more concurrent projects inclusive of project estimating, business partner selection, preliminary schedule, design development, quality control and planning for the commissioning of the MEP scope of work. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in the acquisition of new projects
- Review MEP options and generate systems analysis
- Provide input to project programming and conceptual design
- Coordinate with Center for Sustainable Energy on life cycle cost analysis
- Review documents for system sizing, coordination, and constructability
- Develop and review value alternatives for mechanical and electrical disciplines
- Present MEP estimate details to clients and engineers
- Assist bid team in analyzing market conditions and developing bid list
- Support project teams and on-site MEP resources during construction
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent field
- Minimum of 10 years of construction experience, preferably with a Mechanical or Electrical Contractor
- Minimum of five years estimating or on-site project management experience in construction with one to two years previous experience as a Preconstruction Manager
- Strong cross-cultural relationship building and influencing abilities internally and externally at all levels of the organization
- Strong leadership, communication, problem solving, initiative, and teamwork skills
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office
- Thorough knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and low-voltage systems
- Working knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, scheduling and cost control procedures, drawings and specifications, and required standards
- Active listening skills and effective communication, openness to diverse input and feedback
- Ability to travel up to 70%

The base pay range for this role is $110,700 - $166,100. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%). Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson's incentive plan. Please make note:
