Salary range:
The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 24B. The salary range for this position is $63,500-$70,700. "Off-scale salaries", i.e. a salary that is higher than the published system-wide salary at the designated rank and step, are offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions.

Assistant Specialist - Lili Yang Lab (Gene & Cell Therapy)

The Yang Engineering Immunity Lab at UCLA (https://www.liliyanglab.com/) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Specialist to join our interdisciplinary team. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of next-generation cell therapies for cancer and autoimmune diseases, with a clear translational focus from bench to bedside.
You will work alongside a talented group of scientists and clinical researchers to advance our therapeutic pipeline towards clinical trials. The ideal candidate will bring substantial expertise in gene engineering and CAR-based cell therapies. Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to advance cell therapy programs.
* Design and perform IND-enabling studies to manufacture and characterize cell therapy products.
* Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and support technology transfer to GMP facilities.
* Generate and maintain critical documentation, including protocols, batch records, and study reports.
* Perform additional duties as needed to support the goals of the lab and institution. Required Qualifications:
* Master's degree or higher in a relevant scientific discipline.
* Minimum of 10 years of biological research experience.
* At least 5 years of relevant experience in gene & cell therapy research.
* Proven track record of success in a similar or equivalent role.
