Senior Buyer/Planner (Data-Driven Focus)
Life Unlimited. At Smith+Nephew, we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living.

We are seeking a Senior Buyer/Planner who not only thrives in strategic procurement and supply planning-but also brings strong data acumen to the table. This is a unique opportunity for someone who understands the power of data to drive smarter sourcing decisions, improve forecasting accuracy, and unlock operational efficiency.

In this role, you'll be at the intersection of supply chain strategy and analytics-leveraging tools like Power BI and SQL to uncover insights, identify trends, and optimize procurement performance across the organization.

What will you be doing?

* Review and approve purchasing of goods and services from approved suppliers
* Analyze supply and demand trends using data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) to optimize inventory levels and purchasing decisions
* Manage SKU-level planning parameters (pricing, lead times, MOQ, reorder points, EOQ, supplier contacts)
* Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to monitor supplier performance, cost trends, and supply continuity
* Formulate and lead RFPs/RFQs; negotiate pricing, timelines, and terms with vendors
* Use SQL and Excel to extract, validate, and analyze procurement data from SAP and Ariba systems
* Conduct supplier capacity and risk assessments using forecasting data and business reviews
* Collaborate with S&OP teams to align supply strategies with financial goals in constrained environments
* Lead supplier management through scorecards and quarterly/bi-annual business reviews
* Ensure ongoing compliance with procurement policies, FDA regulations, ISO standards, and record retention requirements
* Partner with Accounting to resolve disputes, credits, discrepancies, and returns

What will you need to be successful?

* Bachelor's Degree required
* 5+ years of progressive experience in procurement, supply chain, or materials planning
* Advanced proficiency in Power BI and SQL; experience with SAP and Ariba is highly preferred
* Strong Excel and data analysis skills; comfortable using analytics to drive business decisions
* Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
* Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple suppliers, SKUs, and competing priorities
* Ability to work in a hybrid office environment and lift/move storage materials occasionally

You. Unlimited.
