Overview

Manager Central Business Offices

The Manager Central Business Offices is responsible for leading and standardizing identified business office processes and operations across all campuses. This role ensures compliance with regulatory and internal policies, drives accuracy and efficiency in financial processes, and fosters a culture of exceptional customer service. The Manager Central Business Offices will assist in overseeing student accounts receivable, accounts payable, purchasing, and inventory management, while supporting campus business office staff. The Manager Central Business Offices will provide training and development to Campus Business Office staff to deliver consistent, high quality service levels.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Revenue Accounting Manager in developing and implementing policies and procedures that enhance efficiency and performance across the campuses
  • Assist in accounting operations and business office process implementation
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing and reporting of accounts payable, invoices, GL coding, and campus receivables, including aging reports, collections, and payment plans
  • Create and monitor business office reports (e.g., exceptions, past due cash, open purchase orders, book margins, financial aid disbursement receipts) to track performance against standards and address deficiencies with staff
  • Monitor customer service levels to ensure effective collaboration between campus business offices and other departments; recommend and implement improvements as needed
  • Promote accountability in business office operations at the campus level in coordination with the Revenue Accounting Manager and Sr. Director of Credit & Collections
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate policies by completing quality assurance reviews with business office activities (e.g., accounting reports, transfer credits, withdrawal/re-entry adjustments, compliance documents), and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring issues
  • Provide on site support, guidance, and services; Coach and develop Business Office Managers and their teams
  • Coordinate with the Regional Directors of Financial Aid to ensure accurate and timely processing of cancellations, institutional refunds, and compliance with evolving laws and regulations
  • Maintain current knowledge of corporate policies and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Licenses/Certifications

  • Valid, state-issued driver's license (required)

Education/Experience

  • HS Diploma or GED (required)
  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or related field (preferred)
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a business office environment, preferably in proprietary education (required)
  • Broad knowledge of accounts receivable, collections, inventory management, financial reporting, and proprietary education experience (preferred)
  • Knowledge base and experience should include intermediate skills in Excel (e.g. v-lookup, pivot tables, conditional formatting and formulas, etc.) (required)

Work Environment

  • Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment when on site at assigned company location. Employees must be able to safely ambulate when on company premises.
  • This position is designated as Remote. Employees must meet minimum technical standards for eligibility and participation.
  • Overnight and/or Local travel required (up to 50%)
