Principle System Engineer - Medium Range Targets Program Office
Contingent upon prime contractor approval
Purpose:
- Valkyrie Enterprises has need for a Principle System Engineer in Huntsville, AL.
- Work covers multiple programs developing the next generation of reentry vehicles, rocket motors, and counter measures in delivering realistic test environments for the nation's missile defense systems.
Job Description:
- Coordinate Medium Range Targets Program Office Systems Engineer activities with other MDA Systems Engineering teams and/or Product Offices, Prime Contractor, and Other Government Agencies (OGAs) as required.
- Obtain & review information from the prime contractor as requested by the Government customer.
- Taking ownership of the technical milestone review process and ensuring all entrance and exit criteria are addressed.
- Facilitate Government IPTs and functional areas (systems engineering, quality, safety, logistics, etc.) as requested.
- Technical baseline management of system designs.
- Ensure levied requirements flow down, and verify compliance.
- Interpreting flight test requirements and coordinating with stakeholders to ensure common understanding.
Qualifications:
- Must have a Master's degree and at least 12+ years working on missile defense-related or other complex, large DoD program / project or Bachelor's degree with 20+ years working on missile defense-related or other complex, large DoD program / project.
- Must have familiarity with MDA and/or DoD programs and processes.
- Must have the ability to apply Engineering rigor to solve engineering/scientific problems.
- Must have experience writing, presenting, and coordinating product and engineering plans, policies, and procedures.
- Must have understanding system interface requirements and requirements management.
- Must have the ability to clearly communicate complex ideas and produce and present clear, concise, well-organized, and audience-relevant presentations and documents.
- Must be able to review system engineering documentation to ensure specifications meet system needs and are accurate.
- Must be able to work Independently, as a team member, or leading teams/tasks.
- Must have experience working in a configuration-controlled environment and ensuring proper levels of handling are applied to items.
Desired Qualifications:
- STEM Degree, preferred.
- Familiarity with MDA and system engineering processes, preferred.
- Familiarity with technical proposal development and evaluation, preferred.
- Model Based Systems Engineering, preferred.
Security Requirements:
- Must have an Active DoD Secret Security clearance, and the ability to maintain clearance
Travel Requirements:
- Minimal Travel; 10% or less
- If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods
- Able to sit and work on a computer for long periods of time
- Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another

- Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds
