As a Database DevOps Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and supporting SQL Server database systems throughout the software development lifecycle. You'll focus on automation, availability, and security, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust and scalable infrastructure solutions.
Key Responsibilities * Manage installation, configuration, and maintenance of SQL Server databases, including High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions. * Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Python, and GitLab CI/CD pipelines. * Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical designs. * Design and implement scalable, secure infrastructure aligned with internal standards and compliance. * Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues using logical and analytical thinking. * Continuously improve systems through analysis, innovation, and automation. * Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Required Skills & Experience * 3-5 years of experience with relational databases. * Strong SQL skills, including queries, joins, indexes, and data modeling. * Experience with SQL Server, and familiarity with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle. * Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python. * Experience with automation/orchestration tools like GitLab CI/CD and Ansible. Preferred Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience. * Exposure to HA/DR technologies like Database Mirroring, Replication, or Always On Availability Groups (AOAG). * Familiarity with Power BI and Gateway administration. * Experience with ETL, data analysis, and reporting tools. * Knowledge of secrets management tools like HashiCorp Vault or CyberArk. * Experience with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira. * Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, including RDS and Azure SQL Database. * Familiarity with monitoring tools such as ELK Stack, Dynatrace, or SolarWinds DPA. Soft Skills & Attributes * Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. * Excellent verbal and written communication. * Ability to work independently and collaboratively in distributed teams. * Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership. * Comfortable working in ambiguous or evolving environments. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $63.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
