HDR's South Carolina Transportation Business Group is seeking a dynamic Client Development Coordinator to lead, oversee, execute and elevate HDR's client development program and strategies.

The client development program is the scalable business development model that HDR uses to maintain and strengthen contact and relationships with clients. This model fosters collaboration and allows multiple HDR professionals to build knowledge of and relationships with our clients. The client development program is a continuous process that is maintained over time, not just when there is an advertisement anticipated. Our business is about people and helping them solve problems. Success requires staying connected with our clients and understanding their needs and challenges.

This role is key to fostering consistent engagement with existing and new clients with the objective of strengthening HDR's relationship with and understanding of the client. The ideal candidate is passionate about communicating and engaging with clients and possesses strong coaching skills associated with helping others understand how to implement strategies for client engagement. In addition, the ideal candidate has strong communication, team leadership and organization skills coupled with knowledge of the South Carolina transportation market.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Development Coordination Responsibilities



  • Lead multi-disciplinary client development teams in collaboration with client developers, to promote effective and regular communication with clients that results in a clear understanding of the client and client's organization.
  • Develop and implement tailored client-based strategies to respond to market trends and influencing specific clients.
  • Identify and onboard client developers and client development team members, providing coaching, mentorship, and ongoing support to enhance team performance and strategic engagement.
  • Support client development teams in strategy development, tracking key metrics, and identifying opportunities to introduce new service lines or personnel to clients.
  • Track and communicate vital client information with client development teams, business development, marketing, and operational leadership to maintain alignment and coordination with the South Carolina Transportation Business Group.
  • Maintain continuous communication with the South Carolina TBG Marketing Manager and SC TBG Business Development Leader to proactively identify any opportunities or client development teams that need direct specific attention based upon information gathered through the client development program.
  • Coach and mentor staff in client development and engagement, fostering a culture of client-centric thinking
  • Develop and maintain information regarding the organizational structure of the client including staff names and positions.


Marketing Services Responsibilities



  • Support proposal development, including content creation and document reviews.
  • Develop, plan, coordinate, and execute client engagement events in collaboration with the SC TBG Business Development Leader and SC TBG Marketing Manager.
  • Utilizing knowledge of clients obtained from leading client development teams, assist in preparing marketing materials and developing messaging that resonates with the target audience.
  • Work with SC TBG Marketing Manager and Marketing Coordinators to coach interview teams to effectively deliver compelling messages during presentations and shortlist interviews.
  • Actively participate in professional and industry associations to represent HDR, foster relationships, and enhance the firm's profile in the industry.
  • Attend industry-specific conferences and tradeshows to represent HDR.
  • Coordinate and facilitate HDR events and organization sponsorship requests, approval and payment.
  • Create and maintain a list of staff involvement in industry organizations in South Carolina.
  • Schedule, lead and facilitate a meeting for each organization with the objective to assess and validate the value and purpose of HDR's involvement in the organization.
  • Assist with maintaining the CRM system, cataloging marketing assets, and other data-driven tasks.


Preferred:



  • Experience in proposal development and interview coaching within a professional services consulting firm.
  • Involvement in professional associations and a strong network in key target markets.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or related field.
  • 5 or more years of experience in client development, business development, or marketing within the A/E/C industry or professional services environment.
  • Proven leadership and team-building skills with the ability to mentor, motivate and coach multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong communication, strategic thinking, and relationship management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement client engagement strategies that drive growth.


Required Qualifications
  • A minimum of 2 years relevant industry experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including InDesign
  • Demonstrated "self-starter" with a history of completing projects with limited oversight
