Job Description
- Provide quality support for machining and manufacturing assembly operations.
- Provides technical support to the quality and quality engineering (QE) functions
- Conducts nondestructive examination (NDE) and quality control (QC) inspections on products, materials, components, parts, etc., at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with established quality and reliability standards
- Recommends new or enhanced methods, procedures and standards
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform incoming visual/dimensional inspections, in process inspections, and final inspections as required
- Read and follow blueprints and schematics.
- Able to program and operate a CMM machine.
- Make decisions on acceptability of materials and products, and disposition non-conforming materials through the part rejection process
- Investigate product quality problems, and recommend changes or improvements, to eliminate root causes and drive measurable improvements
- Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
Qualifications
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines
- Ability to utilize mechanical and electrical inspections equipment such as calipers, micrometers, indicators, multimeter, profilometers, etc.
- Specialized quality training or certifications a plus (ASQ Quality inspector/technician)
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PPT)
- Experience with SAP to view work orders, parts list, and to close completed orders a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
- Work with minimal direct supervision and complete tasks in a timely manner
- Basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting ability to correct issues when they arise
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform job functions safely, and following ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
