Full-time Shift(s): MON TUE WED THU FRI 8:00am - 5:00pm

OVERVIEW:

Working as Full-time IT Supply Chain Technical Support, you will provide technical support for Fastenal's Supply Chain Operations and Fulfillment systems involving the Warehouse, Order, and Transportation Management Systems and affiliated technologies. You will assist employees by ensuring supply chain and distribution related functions flow through the various IT systems. This is technical role requiring you to troubleshoot processes, debug source code, launch queries and make recommendations for operational excellence. The core hours for this position are Monday through Friday during standard business hours, and includes an on-call rotation. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

oProviding technical support, expertise, and fluency for the various supply chain and distribution applications through phone calls, help tickets, and email

oDetermining the root cause of various software/hardware problems efficiently

oRecommending technical and functional solutions for identified problems

oCollaborating with IT teams, especially Software Development, Systems Administration, and Technical Services

oProviding technical support for automated Conveyor and Sortation Systems and ASRS (Automated Storage & Retrieval Systems, also known as Mini Load and Unit Load Systems)

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:

oPossess prior customer service, administrative, or IT work experience

oExcellent written and oral communication skills

oProficient using Microsoft Office Suite

oFamiliarity using Linux and Windows operating systems as well as programming languages such as Sculptor, Java, C++, and/or Oracle PL/SQL

oHighly motivated, self-directed, and customer service oriented

oDemonstrate strong organization, planning, prioritizing abilities and attention to detail

oLearn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment and adapt quickly in order to reprioritize support activity

oWork independently as well as in a team environment

oDemonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork

oWillingness to participate in an on-call work rotation

oWillingness to travel occasionally, up to 10% of the time

oPass the required drug screen and background check (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)

PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

oPosses a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Technology, Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering or related education

oDemonstrated work experience in a warehousing, distribution, or supply chain operations position
