Work Schedule:
70% FTE, 28 Hours per week. Shifts scheduled Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Hours may vary based on the needs of the clinic.

Pay:

We are seeking an Optician (ABO, NCLE) to:

* Join the UW Health Eye Care Team who provides comprehensive care to patients of all ages.
* Assist patients with selecting the right fit, shape, style of eyewear and dispense contact lenses.
* Perform eye-glass repairs and adjustments.
* Educate patients and families on proper eye-wear care.

Education:
Minimum -
* High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred -
* Completion of an accredited Optician Vision Care Program
* Some continued education courses

Work Experience:
Minimum -
* Computer experience required
* Previous eye care experience
Preferred -
* One or more years optician experience
* Lab training or experience preferred
* Contact lens training or experience preferred
* Optical lab experience and/or optometric technician experience
* One or more years of work experience with processing insurance claims

Licenses and Certifications:
Minimum -
* Obtain ABO Certification within 18-months or three (3) testing periods from the date of hire, and maintain the certification
Preferred -
* American Board of Opticianry (ABO) Certification and/or National Contact Lens (NCLE) Certification
