About the role:
As a Shift Manager you will coordinate, lead and interface with all CFFF operations areas and support groups to ensure that safety, quality, and delivery schedule requirements are met. You will report to the Senior Manager of Mechanical Operations and be located at Columbia, SC. You will support this role 100% onsite.
Key Responsibilities:
Work with operations departments to plan, organize, and communicate resources to achieve use of employees, equipment and material consistent with safety, regulatory, quality, productivity and financial requirements through the use of Westinghouse Manufacturing Systems & Tools.
Determine shift priorities and coordinate operations and activities within or between departments
Foster a safety and quality-conscious environment through the use and reinforcement of Human Performance
Assure compliance to safety, regulatory and quality requirements.
Monitor area metrics to observe unfavorable trends through use of Visual Management and observations.
Communicate discrepancies and solicit support
Work with support department managers (Product Assurance, Maintenance) to define immediate and near-term requirements for support activities.
Review the plant master schedules daily and provide input to Planning and Work Management to meet goals
Manage manufacturing schedules and production orders to meet logistical schedules, optimize inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures and duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations, time constraints and customer impact
Be the single contact for off shift hours when responding to EH&S, Quality, or Production events.
Be the Emergency Director when emergency brigade response is activated, until the arrival of staff management
Evaluate production procedures for opportunities of continuous improvement. Responsible for the organization's manufacturing projects and practices
Coordinate activities of workers engaged in all phases of operations.
Prepare operation schedules and coordinate manufacturing activities following Planning and Work Management schedules to meet shift-by-shift requirements
Remain knowledgeable of EHS procedures to inform personnel of upcoming changes, such as.... Ensure that all employees reporting to this position are informed and meeting the standards and related policies, and enforce them within this supervised activity
Coordinate with Area Managers, manage the area strategy deployment and implementation and monitoring to lead continuous improvements. Collaborate with all areas to meet the organizational vision
Data collection, metric creation and department and site status reporting.
Use data to lead daily, nightly and weekend Station Meetings
