Shipping / Receiving Clerk Job Purpose: We are currently seeking a Shipping Clerk to support activities related to the shipping of finished goods. This role involves communicating and coordinating with transportation companies (FedEx/UPS), handling routine questions and problems, and maintaining open communication with other departments throughout the shipping/delivery cycle. The Shipping Clerk will confirm the accuracy of invoices, bills, and charges related to shipments, log order information into the computer (Oracle), and file and distribute necessary paperwork. Additionally, the role includes maintaining records and generating reports for accounting and other areas. Nature of Duties/Responsibilities: Lifting heavy items and operating a forklift. * Preparing and maintaining records of merchandise shipped. * Driving a company van to deliver boards to customers, cutting slip sheets, and packaging and boxing boards in accordance with department procedures. * General housekeeping. * Order fulfillment, storing, and distribution of materials, parts, and supplies. * Unpacking and packing goods and materials. Education and Experience: Clean driving record (submit DMV printout), ability to read and follow procedures. * Shipping department experience is a must. * Familiarity with international shipping. * Previous clerical experience. * Computer experience (preferably with Oracle but not required). * Ability to communicate in English (verbal and written). * High accuracy and attention to detail. * 2-4 years of work experience. * Must be able to learn and adapt quickly. * Must have a valid Driver's License. * Must be able to lift 30 lbs and over repeatedly.
