The Department of Biological Sciences at Columbia University invites applications for a full-time Lecturer in Discipline for the Fall 2025 semester. Responsibilities will include leading multiple recitation sections and grading for the introductory biology course and upper level (3000 & 4000 level) courses and teaching a one-semester upper-level undergraduate lecture course for Biology majors. There will also be opportunities to contribute to the evolution and leadership of the undergraduate program in biology. Minimum Degree Required: Ph.D. in Biological Sciences or similar field Minimum Qualifications: Candidates should have a strong appreciation for evidence-based deductions, quantitative analyses and molecular mechanisms. Candidates should also have the ambition to promote curiosity, encourage independent thinking and challenge a talented pool of students to think logically and rigorously. Teaching experience preferred.
